Who are the characters?
Fairy Dragmother: (she/her, genderqueer) Drag queen caretaker of the kingdom, particularly of Arabella. “She is an icon, she is a legend, and she is the moment.” A lady never reveals her age.
Vocal Range (flexible): C3-C5 (high tenor/contralto) or F2-G4 (baritone)
Arabella: (she/her) 20 years old and (awkward) Princess of Staunton. Soon to be wed in an arranged marriage, Arabella wants to prioritize her own love, happiness, and dignity before a centuries-old tradition.
Vocal Range: G3-D5 (mezzo-soprano/alto)
Prince Benjamin: (he/him) 23-year-old suitor of Arabella. Closeted gay man. He feels immense pressure to be the perfect Prince and compensates by hiding behind performative heterosexuality.
Vocal Range: Ab2-Db5 (tenor with extended range)
Christopher: (he/him) Keeper of the royal forest, 22 years old. He is an out and proud gay man. He used to be friends with Benjamin before he got engaged to his current fiance.
Vocal Range: F2-C#4 (baritone/bass)
Ellis: (they/them) 21-year-old nonbinary love interest of Arabella, the cast out Royal Sibling to Prince Benjamin. They have found their home and chosen family in the forest.
Vocal Range: E3-D5 (high tenor/contralto/neutral voice)
Queen Jeanne: (she/her) Queen of Staunton and middle-aged mother of Arabella. Due to her status and position as queen, a mother, and a woman she feels she has missed out on life. Although sometimes cynical, she loves her daughter and wants her to find happiness.

King Gene: (he/him) King of Staunton and middle-aged father of Arabella. He loves his daughter very much, but does not want to stray from tradition.
Vocal Range: F2-D4 (baritone/bass)
Dash Flash with the Cash: (any pronouns) Member of a local talent acquisition agency, and in charge of finding Arabella’s suitors. Game show host/car salesman-type.

Michael: (he/him) Christopher’s 20-something-year-old love interest.
